Ongoing technical ownership

Website Maintenance and Support

A maintenance plan gives routine website work a named owner. I help businesses keep forms working, dependencies current, backups useful, and small problems from sitting unnoticed until they interrupt leads or publishing.

What a maintenance plan can cover

The scope can include software and dependency updates, content changes, uptime and error monitoring, backup checks, form testing, analytics review, accessibility fixes, performance work, technical SEO, and a prioritized improvement backlog. The agreement should state which systems are included and who handles hosting, domains, email, and third-party accounts.

Monitoring is different from recovery

An alert only identifies a problem. A useful plan also defines who investigates it, which recovery steps are available, how backups are verified, and what falls outside the response agreement. Sites with payments, authentication, or operational integrations usually need more coverage than a small brochure site.

Maintenance for modern and legacy stacks

I support Next.js, React, Strapi, APIs, and selected existing WordPress systems. The first review documents the stack, current access, known failures, update risk, and any unsupported components before recurring work begins.

A practical first month

The first month normally establishes access, baselines, backups, monitoring, form checks, analytics, and a ranked list of repairs. That gives both sides a shared record of the site's condition and prevents a maintenance plan from becoming an undefined promise to fix everything.

Website Maintenance questions

What is included in website maintenance?

Coverage is agreed before work begins and may include updates, monitoring, backup verification, form testing, content changes, technical SEO, accessibility, performance work, and troubleshooting.

Do you maintain websites that you did not build?

Yes, after an initial technical review. The review identifies the platform, access requirements, unsupported software, existing failures, and any work needed before ongoing support is responsible.

Is emergency support included?

Emergency response is included only when the agreement states the response window and covered systems. A standard maintenance plan should not imply around-the-clock support unless that coverage was purchased.

Can maintenance include technical SEO?

Yes. It can include crawl checks, redirects, metadata, structured data, sitemap review, internal linking, performance, and monitoring. Content strategy and large rewrites are scoped separately.
